Our Why- Keep The Faith

Growing up I always knew I wanted to start my own business and run a company. Little did I know that it would turn into this. Fast forward to 2019 when I was in college and everything felt perfect (of course doing what college kids do, iykyk) I was on top of the world.

Sitting in my apartment one night I was on my phone and saw a picture of my neighbor that someone had posted. With the caption, RIP you will be missed, and of course so many questions went through my head like anyone else because I had not heard anything else, no calls, to texts, not anything. I told my roommate what I saw and told him I needed to go for a drive. He asked if I was okay and me being me, I just told him I was fine. But deep down my heart hurt and didn't know how to express it. On that drive to town, I think I was still in shock because I don't remember texting anyone else or calling anyone. It was all kind of a blur. My phone rings, it's my dad, calling to tell me what had happened. He then told me that my neighbor crashed his truck, then shot himself and that he was gone. Being 20 years old, I had no words or anything to say, just tears.

This had a bigger impact on me more than I think a lot of people understand. He babysat my brother and I growing up and was always around. From bailing hay in the summer to just playing basketball in the barnyard. Or playing video games together and just hanging out. He was like another older brother and to my brother he was like an older brother. He was always there for us. As I got older, I started having bonfires at the house and he would always come out and most of the time stay later than a lot of my friends. One night, it was just me and him standing by the fire and he asked if I could drive him home. He was feeling pretty good and didn't want to drive, I remember this like it was yesterday. I asked him, "what you want me to do, walk back?" Keep in mind he only lived a 1/2 mile down the road. But I was being selfish and didn't want to do it, so he drove home and made it safe. At the time I didn't think anything of it but looking back he just wanted someone to be there for him like he was for us. That single memory sits in my brain the most because I feel responsible because I wasn't there for him. As I got older, I realized that small gesture would have been the best thing for him. I know that is a bad way of thinking about it and I have come to peace with it over the years. But it still hurts to think about.

Fast forward a few years, me bouncing around from job to job trying to find something I wanted to do. Partying all the time, in and out of a relationship that was going nowhere, trying to just blur everything out. I then started to question everything, like why I am here. Driving home after late nights, falling asleep at the wheel and almost crashing my truck a couple times. I began to question even harder because some nights I just felt like I shouldn't have made it home and shouldn't be where I'm at. Another night driving my side-by-side home I hit a dear in the rain, and it spun me out. All I remember is looking to my left and my driver side door was heading straight into a telephone pole. I thought I was done, when I opened my eyes back up, I was sitting in a field perfectly fine. The machine was up right, on all fours and no damage to anything at all. After going back and looking at my tire marks, I had dodged a mailbox and the telephone pole. Still to this day I don't know what happened or how I corrected the wheel to not run into the pole. On the rest of the way back home I just cried because I thought I should be dead and how I made it with not even a scratch. Again, I began to question a lot of things in my life. All I could think was that God was looking out for me, that night and the previous nights before. I am meant for something more and my job on earth isn't done yet. KEEP THE FAITH

In all honesty the word 'Vectre' doesn't have a meaning, it's not even a real word. But I like to tell people that it's a representation of life. Because everyone has different views and different goals for their lives. So as in 'Vectre' ask yourself, what does life mean to you. We all go through difficult phases in our lives, but the underlying message is to HAVE FAITH. Have faith that everything will work out just as it's supposed too. The career or the relationship, if something doesn't work out, its alright. The world isn't going to end, brush it off and get back up. Keep working towards your goals and try new things. It's okay to fail at something but NEVER QUIT. Hebrews 11:1 "Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see."

We all have doubts and insecurities that we don't talk about. But it is never okay to take your own life. If you are having troubles and can't seem to find your way, please go talk to someone. It is never worth it to keep everything buried inside, because it just tears you apart even more. Trust me I know firsthand. Follow God, hit the gym, live your life, be good to people, and Have Faith.

You are not alone, wearing this brand is a reminder. It may be difficult, we may struggle some days, but we will never quit.
